Warriors: Legends of Troy (PS3) User Review
In contrast to Dynasty Warrior games, Legends of Troy comes from Koei Canada. For gamers who are familiar with the mythology of Trojan War, you will certainly like the Legends of Troy. The Greek armies are conquering Troy due to some romantic misunderstanding. With the conflict dragging on for decades, the bloody conflict is divided into many chapters. The division will make perspective vary, as you will be struggling for the Greeks at one time and for the Trojans the next.
Playing with the Legends of Troy is a refreshing move after you are done with the different Dynasty Warrior games. During combat, the player is provided with various purpose based on the chapters. Most of the goals are directed to killing multitudes of people. In order to do such thing, every hero will make swift attacks, focused attacked and stun attacks as well. You also need to do an evasive roll and make a shield. When you have the chance to familiarize the list of moves, you will realize that most combinations are very easy to perform.
There are 2 significant features of the game which will make it distinct from the Dynasty Warrior games. One is you will earn a reward if you are unable to mash a button during the combat. The corresponding strike will be more potent if you time every single button press appropriately. The other feature is the creation of Kleos counter every attack. The more you execute finish moves, the more you will have bonuses for the counter.
Although, the approaches are quite trivial, they are enormously significant. The timing and skills are provided with rewards to enhance your performance while the counter for the money will offer the player a visible sense of achievement when playing. The Kleos will be used to buy items to improve the performance of your hero.
The game also has a system of counterattack which can make the player have a free as long as the time for blocking is precise. This is very important in the game’s boss fight duels and another battle segment which will require skills. Yet, similar to the game’s predecessors, Legends of Troy has also grave issues.
The environment does not look very appealing and the animations are rather awkward. Furthermore, the lock-on system also is cumbersome. It does not utilize a camera orientation and instead make use of the direction of the character. As an illustration, if you want to evade danger but would like to lock your adversary which you are following, you can only attain a lock by turning around. Despite its many issues, Legends of Troy can still be fun and amusing.
